Presto Classical
Presto Classical have a catalogue containing tens of thousands of classical CDs and DVDs, all of which are available for sale on their website.
Music Catalogue
Presto staff add new releases and keep the catalogue up to date using a custom-designed Microsoft Access application to edit detailed information kept about each record. The Access application connects directly to the MySQL database on our web server and a preview system allows any changes to be previewed as a batch before they are published.
Order Processing
Orders are taken on the website through a secure connection. Payment is handled by WorldPay - one of the leaders in internet payment.
Once an order is confirmed it is added to the order database on the webserver. Back in the shop, the Presto staff use another part of the Access application to process the order. The system automatically checks stock of the ordered items, and if necessary orders the items from the suppliers.
When new stock arrives it is booked in using the same system, and allocated to any oustanding orders. Delivery notes and addresses are also printed from here so that the orders can easily be picked and despatched.
