Tempus Publishing
Tempus Publishing are a publisher of history books, and have a catalogue of thousands of books. They came to us wanting their existing site redesigned, and wanting to sell their books online.
Catalogue Import
Tempus already had a database of all their books, and didn't want to re-enter each book for the website. We set up an automated system to pull the data about all the books, including stock information, from their in-house database. This happens every night with no user interaction required, which makes sure the website has all the latest books and up-to-date information.
Order Processing
For their trade operations Tempus already had warehousing and despatch facilities in place. We integrated online orders into this.
Orders are taken on the website and payment is handled by Worldpay. Once payment is confirmed the order is sent directly to the automated order system and sent out by the warehouse staff. Again, no user interaction from Tempus is required, other than picking, packing & posting the order along with all their other orders.
Other Features
On top of the standard shopping and browsing functionality we also implemented a voucher scheme and an affiliate scheme to Tempus's own specification.
Unfortunately the Tempus Publishing website is not currently active.
